1853 – The newly constructed Mills House Hotel costs $200,000 to build and opens to the public. During these early years, The Mills House was a beacon for innovation and modern tastemakers. Joseph Rainey – one of the most influential freedmen in Charleston and the first African American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives – operated his barber shop on the ground floor of The Mills House.
With the relaunch, Mills House transitions to Mills House Charleston, Curio Collection by Hilton as the portfolio’s first property in South Carolina. Our last stay was at Harbourview and really wasn’t impressed. Last time we stayed at the Mills was prior to a lot of the renovations. We were pleased with the updates to the bar\restaurant, check in area.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, excellent location, very fast valet parking, good food, excellent staff. The Beverly Hilton is ideally located just minutes from the Los Angeles Country Club, the exclusive Rodeo Drive, UCLA, the Sunset Strip, and Hollywood. With its proximity to these iconic landmarks, our hotel serves as the perfect gateway to explore the best of Los Angeles.
